Impaired Driving Laws by Province
In addition to the federal government's role in updating laws to combat impaired driving, the provinces and territories also have the power to enact further measures to address this issue, such as license suspensions at a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level of .05%, zero tolerance for young and novice drivers, alcohol ignition interlocks, vehicle impoundment, and other programs to help curb the issue of impaired driving. These measures serve as important additions to the Criminal Code, allowing for more targeted and effective efforts to reduce impaired driving incidents.
